Thomas “Jordan” Miles III serves as the Director of Policy for The Gerontological Society of America, which was founded in 1945 and is the oldest and largest interdisciplinary organization devoted to research, education, and practice in the field of aging.
Jordan previously served as the Director of Nutrition, Congregate Transportation and Medical Transportation at Piedmont Senior Resources (PSR) Area Agency on Aging overseeing the direct care needs of older adults in a seven-county region. He also served as Interim CEO of PSR at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jordan was a legislative advocate for the Virginia Association of Area Agencies on Aging, helping to directly secure a $700,000 in a budget amendment for the association’s members. Jordan has experience advocating at the local, state, and federal levels for the betterment of older adults. He has presented at many national and state conferences on legislative advocacy, medical transportation, and nutrition.
Jordan previously served on the Buckingham County Board of Supervisors where he served as the Board’s Chairman, playing a key role in writing and implementing public policy and budgetary language. He also served as President and Chairman of the Board of the Buckingham Chamber of Commerce.
