Bio

I am a Professor in the College of Social Work at The Ohio State University. I completed graduate degrees in Human Development at Penn State. My research focuses on intergenerational strategies to address community needs with a strengths-based view of youth and elders as resources to each other. Much of my work has been conducted at adult day services for frail elders where I have studied non-pharmacological interventions, staff development to enhance client outcomes, and Service-Learning. I believe that young people’s contact with older adults has the potential to impact their health when they become old by informing their knowledge and expectations about aging.
