I am an Associate Professor in Gerontology at Swansea University. My main research interests are on ageing and later life and he has published on a wide range of topics from quality of life, work and retirement, health inequalities and consumption in later life. I have been involved in a number of large scale studies including the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA), the Survey for Health, Retirement and Ageing in Europe (SHARE) and the Swedish Longitudinal Occupational Study of Health (SLOSH). I am the Chair of the British Society of Gerontology (BSG) Work and Retirement Group, Chair of the Opportunities for Learning and Work in Later Life group, President of BSG Cymru and a member of the Integrated Datasets in Europe for Ageing Research network. I am a Deputy Editor for Ageing & Society.
