Hello! My name is Lauren. I'm a GERO doctoral student, avid researcher, and enthusiastic college level instructor. My current interests in social gerontology include resilience, religion/spirituality, mental health/family trauma, and LGBT elder relationships and advocacy. I also have a special emphasis in qualitative/mixed methods research, and I am hoping to apply this to gerontology and related fields.
Additionally, I teach introductory social science classes (e.g. psychology, sociology, and gerontology) and strive to develop learner-centered instructional techniques. My hope is to continue this effort in social sciences in online, hybrid, and in person formats.
My passions include writing, storytelling, intergenerational dialogue. Please contact me at crf_bouchalm@cuchicago.edu.
