In 2020 Dr. Navarro co-founded the USC Verdugo Hills Hospital's Community Resource Center for Aging, a social service to assist community members with consultation, support, and navigation among the myriad of social care services and supports. She is educated in gerontology (PhD 2011) and clinical social work (LCSW 1987) and served as a graduate level educator for more than a decade. Research interests have included care transitions, multidisciplinary teams (IPE), and interventions that address elder mistreatment. Current aims are training and supervision that enhance social work practice with older adults, including the assessment of decision-making capacity.
