Dr. Allen Glicksman serves as Director of Research and Evaluation at Philadelphia Corporation for Aging. Before coming to PCA he served one year as a scientist in the Buehler Center at Northwestern University and for 16 years worked for Dr. M. Powell Lawton at Philadelphia Geriatric Center. Dr. Glicksman is trained as a sociologist. He has received funding from the NIH and private foundations for the study of ethnicity, immigration, religion, and the physical and social environment as they influence both well-being and the ways in which older adults express their sense of well-being. His current work focuses on the study of neighborhood level programs that enhance the health and well-being of older adults, especially those who are low income, minority and immigrants and/or refugees.
