Since 2013 Amy Vandenbroucke has served as the Executive Director of the National Physician Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment (POLST) Paradigm. Over the last couple of years she has also served as the Chair of the Oregon POLST Task Force (2013-2014) and as an Associate Director of the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Center for Ethics in Health Care (since 2013). She previously served as OHSU Legal Counsel (2007-2012), providing counsel on a variety of topics including: contracts, university and hospital policies and medical ethics.
Amy Vandenbroucke graduated DePaul University College of Law in 2006 where she focused her studies on health care and was published several times in the DePaul University College of Law Journal of Health Care Law. She has worked for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Office for Civil Rights, the American Osteopathic Association, and served as the Interim Manager for the Social and Behavioral Science Institutional Review Board at the University of Chicago.
Her passion has always revolved around healthcare policies and ethics and she is thrilled she is currently able to work with national leaders to implement POLST nationwide. She greatly enjoys traveling, eating and drinking good food and wine with her husband, and playing with her Portuguese Water Dog, Katie.
