Bio

Marla Berg-Weger, Ph.D., LCSW, is a Professor at the Saint Louis University School of Social Work and Executive Director, Saint Louis University School of Medicine Geriatric Education Center, and Fellow in the Gerontological Society of America. During 23 years at the University, she has served ten years as the Social Work Director of Field Education and six years as the Senior Associate Provost of Academic Affairs and Interim Dean, College of Education and Public Service. Scholarly work has focused on aging, family caregiving and social work practice. She has authored four books and over 90 book chapters, journal articles, and scholarly publications. Research has focused on family caregiving, cognitive stimulation therapy, and driving and mobility. Service activities have included: Current Chair, GSA SRPP Section; Co-Convener, GSA Transportation Interest Group; member, GSA Publications Committee; President and Secretary, Association for Gerontology Education in Social Work and Co-Coordinator of the AGE SW Gerontological Social Work Pre-Dissertation Initiative; and Managing Editor, Journal of Gerontological Social Work.
