Dr. Javedan completed his bachelor's degree at Harvard University before going to medical school at the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. He completed his basic surgical training at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where he began to develop his commitment to the care of older surgical patients. He subsequently completed his internal medicine residency in the United States and the extended clinician-educator Harvard Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine.
Dr. Javedan now leads the Division of Aging’s collaborative efforts with the surgical specialties at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, having recently established the trauma-orthopedic geriatric service at BWH. Dr. Javedan also leads the Division of Aging’s consultation service.
Dr. Javedan is the associate program director for Clinical Education with the Harvard Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine. Dr. Javedan created and teaches the Harvard Geriatric Clinical Reasoning Curriculum. He is a Macy Scholar.
